1850 Properties Secures Entitlement for Sunset Plaza in Rio Vista, CA

Alamo, CA – August 13, 2025 – 1850 Properties is proud to announce that the City of Rio Vista Planning Commission has approved entitlements for Sunset Plaza, a new highway-commercial project at the southwest corner of State Highway 12 and Drouin Drive in Rio Vista, California.

On August 13, 2025, the Planning Commission adopted Resolution 2025-006, approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2025-003 and Site and Architectural Review Permit No. 2025-002. The approvals allow a convenience market with an attached car wash, an automobile service station with twelve fueling pumps and electric-vehicle charging, and a multi-tenant retail building with a drive-thru, on approximately 1.9 acres. The City determined the project is exempt from further CEQA review as Class 32 in-fill development.

The project will serve Highway 12 travelers and Rio Vista residents from a vacant site zoned Highway Commercial. 1850 Properties looks forward to continued work with the City of Rio Vista as the project moves from entitlement toward construction.
